Korean Air Business Jet (business division of a South Korean carrier of Korean Air) has received a new business jet of Gulfstream G650ER from plant of the producer (in the future serial number of HL8068 will be assigned to the airplane). Whether in the company do not comment on the new aircraft it will be available to charter flights.
In November, 2012 heads of the company have decided to begin seriously work on an entry into the international market of business transportations, having begun with monitoring of strategically important markets – China, Russia, Japan, Hong Kong and native South Korean. The economic situation which has developed today in South Korea according to management of Korean Air, has all premises for start of the new project. The business plan of the daughter of a carrier – Korean Air Business Jet – only forms now. However already now it is clear that if conceived it is realized, the national carrier will be able to try on monasteries and the chief business operator of the country. The subject of aircraft fleet is studied by the company rather scrupulously. It is known that it will be ultradistant airplanes of the class BBJ, Gulfstream G650 and Bombardier Global with the spacious salons executed in national Korean motives with the up-to-date “stuffing” allowing to work actively during flight. It is known that now Korean Air conducts negotiations with a number of the known design studio. However and now BBJ1 capable to be airborne till 12 o’clock and 13-seater Global XRS are available to passengers not conceding on comfort 16-seater at all (plus four bedrooms). All airplanes of 2010. In addition to Korean Air aircraft fleet will provide to the passengers and new Sikorsky S76C+ soon.
Search of strategic partners out of South Korea will become the second and important part of the plan of entry into the market. The large share operator from Canada of Flexjet which is already able to work with large national carriers, such as Qatar Airways can become the first applicant for alliance. Agreement details remain in secret so far, however it is known that in case of achievement of arrangements business passengers of Korean Air will get unprecedented access to the North American market and vice versa (more than 5000 directions to the USA, Canada, Mexico, and also the Bahamas and other resort directions in the region by the Flexjet airplanes). At the same time it is possible to reserve and pay the ticket for a business jet in any representation of Korean Air or on the Internet with one transaction. Besides, future partners hope also for increase in number of North American clients of Flexjet. According to the same scheme they will be “met” by the Korean Air Business Jer airplanes at the European and South Korean airports.
In parallel with development of park in Korean Air do not avoid also a problem of basing and service of the fleet. As the main airport the company nevertheless wants to reserve once main airport of the country Gimpo Airport where now both the traffic is less and the infrastructure allows to service any types of airplanes, and also to build own objects, including FBO.
According to preliminary data, the decision on the beginning of the “land” development plan for a carrier management is already made. And in the nearest future starts new marketing and advertizing campaigns in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Moscow and Beijing where the company will create own websites in national languages, will hold the presentations and in the future will open full-fledged branches.
