Gulfstream Aerospace Company reported another record speed between pairs of cities on the Super (G) 280. more recently, the aircraft set a record on the route between Guernsey, one of the Channel Islands in Europe, and Teterboro, New Jersey. This achievement allows you to make the transatlantic trip in just over seven hours and 26 minutes.
Business Jet left Guernsey airport in 7:54 am local time and arrived at Teterboro Airport in 10:20 am local time, completing 3216-mile (5956 miles) flight with average speed of Mach 0.80.
“This flight demonstrated outstanding landing characteristics G280, said Scott Neal, Senior Vice President of global sales at Gulfstream. “Takeoff distance Available Guernsey airport is less than 5200 feet, however, G280 was able to execute this flight with a large reserve. One of the many advantages is the ability to use the G280 small airports and landing strips without sacrificing range and speed.
G280 since commissioning in November 2012 found 57 speed records. It has a range of 3600 nautical miles/6667 km at a speed of Mach 0.80.
While the request for a record is considered the National Aeronautics Association, United States, the company also sent documents to the International Aviation Federation in Switzerland on the recognition of the world rail speed record between pairs of cities.
