The Bombardier company has reported on October 29 the financial results in the third quarter 2015. The quarter revenue has made $4,1 billion in comparison with $4,9 billion for the same period of last financial year. In the third quarter the loss before financing of expenses and payment of taxes has made $4,6 billion, in comparison with profit of $171 million for the same period of last financial year. Net loss has made $4,9 billion, or $2,20 for one action.
The company explains negative financial performance with write-off of expenses according to the CSeries and Learjet 85 programs. On October 28, 2015, due to the lack of sales after long weakness of the market, Bombardier has closed the Learjet 85 program. As a result in the third quarter 2015 of financial year expenses of $1,2 billion have been written off. Nevertheless, the Canadian producer will still develop Learjet family. $3,2 billion more have been written off according to the CSeries program, but Bombardier has concluded the memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Economics and innovations of the Province of Quebec about repayment of 49,5% of stocks in this program for $1,0 billion.
The division of Bombardier Business Aircraft in the third quarter has earned $1,558 billion that is 5% less, than the previous year. In total 43 business airplanes have been put: seven Learjet 70/Learjet, 18 Challenger 300/350, three Challenger 605 and 15 Global 5000/Global 6000. This quantity is two less, than in the similar period of last year during which the producer has reported to customers seven Learjet 70/75, one Learjet 60XR, 12 Challenger 300/350, six Challenger 605 and 19 Global. Nevertheless, in nine months of delivery of business jets have grown by 9 airplanes, to 135 units.
After write-off from a stock of orders of 11 Learjet 85 in the first half of year, Bombardier last quarter I have also written off the remained 64 orders for these airplanes. As a result in the third quarter the producer has negative balance of orders for 32 airplanes.
Excepting cancellations of Learjet 85, the relation of the received orders to the released airplanes makes 0,7, in comparison with 0,5 last year now.
In other perspective program, Global 7000/8000, the producer has positive steps. On the first pilot Global 7000 engines are installed, and structural components are mounted, including all sections of a fuselage, wings, the chassis and tail plumage. Besides, the electrical wiring is established and functional test procedures have begun.
The second pilot prototype is at a final stage of assembly, the back, central and front section of a fuselage and a cabin are joined. Also at different stages of production and mounting there are two more prototypes.
The program of certification Challenger 650 on is complete now for 95%. Obtaining the certificate is planned in the fourth quarter 2015.
